Dharamshala
On the first day of his visit to Himachal Pradesh, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale paid a courtesy call on His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Following the meeting, he visited the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, where he was formally introduced and welcomed. Later, he participated in a Dharma Conference organized by the Dev Bhoomi Maitri Sangh at the community hall in Kotwali Bazaar.
Addressing the gathering, Hosabale emphasized that “world peace requires inner peace.” He recalled the teachings of Lord Buddha, who declared Esha Dharma Sanatan — that Sanatan Dharma is rooted in nature and based on purity, compassion, sacrifice, and service to humanity. He highlighted the sacrifices of great saints, including Guru Tegh Bahadur, who gave his life for the protection of Dharma, and praised the Dalai Lama for spreading the message of peace across the world.
The conference was graced by the presence of the 7th Ling Rinpoche as chief guest. The event was organized to mark the 90th birthday celebrations of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the centenary year of the RSS. Ling Rinpoche lauded the Sangh’s efforts in promoting unity, harmony, and goodwill in India and abroad. He urged everyone to work for environmental protection, non-violence, and global peace, noting that India is guiding the world on the right path.
Hundreds of Buddhist followers from Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti, Kangra district, and other regions attended the conference. Distinguished participants included Prant Sanghchalak Dr. Veer Singh Rangra, Kshetra Karyavah Roshan Yadav, Dr. Krishmat Kumar (Kshetra Pracharak), Sardar Jasveer Singh, Shri Bhushan Raina, Geshe Longjag, Kochang Gompa Negi, Tenzin Chogden, Koncha Migmar, program convener Dr. Thuktan Negi, co-convener Sunil Sharma, and Bhupendra Singh, among many other eminent personalities.
