Dharamshala:
Hundreds of BJP workers gathered at the Lions Club in Dharamshala on Wednesday for the Atal Smriti Sammelan, a tribute to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The event highlighted the ideological strength and organisational unity of the party, while celebrating Vajpayee’s contributions to nation-building, democracy and good governance.
Former Assembly Speaker, ex-minister and MLA Vipin Singh Parmar addressed the gathering, describing Atal Bihari Vajpayee not just as a political leader but as a symbol of a guiding ideology. “Vajpayee’s connected politics with service and nation-building. His approach of dialogue, dignity and development continues to set an example for the country,” Parmar said. He urged party workers to carry Vajpayee’s principles to every household, calling it the truest form of homage.
Integrity and patriotism in focus
Former minister and Dharamshala MLA Sudhir Sharma spoke about Vajpayee’s steadfast commitment to national interest, even during challenging times. “In an era of opportunism, Vajpayee’s life remains a beacon of honesty, patriotism and service. The BJP is the true heir to his ideology,” Sharma said.
Kangra BJP district president Sachin Sharma said the conference infused the organisation with new energy. “Vajpayee’s ideals continue to inspire BJP workers and the party moves forward with these principles guiding every step,” he remarked, thanking all leaders and workers present at the event.
BJP leaders, workers participate in large numbers
The conference saw active participation from senior party leaders, public representatives and workers, including state BJP spokesperson Rakesh Sharma, media co-incharge advocate Vishwa Chakshu, district general secretary Devendra Kohli, Dharmshala mandal president Dr Vishal Nehria, former MLA Vishal Nehria, Shashwat Kapoor and deputy mayor Tejinder Kaur.
The event echoed the sentiment “Atal Hai to Vishwas Hai”, reflecting the enduring trust and respect BJP workers hold for Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The Atal Smriti Sammelan not only paid tribute to his legacy but also reaffirmed his ideas as the guiding principles for the party and the nation.
