Bilaspur: Rajesh Dharmani, a sitting minister in the Himachal Pradesh government known for his intellect and composed demeanor, openly questioned the contribution of BJP leaders from Himachal serving at the national level, particularly J.P. Nadda, BJP’s national president. Speaking at a public event, Dharmani raised concerns over the lack of support for the state’s welfare from leaders occupying influential positions in Delhi.
Highlighting long-pending issues, Dharmani pointed to unresolved claims worth ₹9,000 crore related to Bhakra Dam oustees. He remarked, “J.P. Nadda, the third most powerful person in the BJP-led central government and a leader rooted in Bilaspur, has failed to address this critical issue despite his significant stature.” He accused Nadda of holding numerous meetings in Delhi without delivering any tangible results for Himachal Pradesh.
Dharmani criticized the BJP for its alleged strategy of creating election-centric narratives and misleading people to secure victories across the country. He took a jab at the party’s failed attempts to destabilize the current government through “Operation Lotus,” asserting, “No conspiracy will succeed in Himachal Pradesh. The BJP must learn from its repeated defeats.”
The minister expressed confidence in Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s leadership, stating that the Congress government is committed to fulfilling its promises. “Every guarantee made to the people will be honored,” he assured. Dharmani also emphasized the unity among Congress leaders in Bilaspur, pledging to work collectively for the district’s development.
Highlighting the Congress government’s ongoing efforts, Dharmani pointed to the implementation of guarantees as evidence of their dedication to public welfare. He urged the BJP to focus on genuine issues rather than resorting to diversionary tactics.
Dharmani’s bold remarks underscore the political tussle between the ruling Congress and the BJP in Himachal Pradesh, with both parties vying to secure the trust of the electorate. His pointed criticism of BJP leaders working at the national level is likely to spark further debate on the role of Himachal leaders in addressing the state’s pressing issues.
