The Minjar Cricket Tournament-2026 concluded today with an exciting final match. Saurabh-11 Bihar delivered a stellar performance, scoring 197 runs. In response, Jalpa-11 managed 151 runs, falling short by 46 runs. With this victory, Saurabh-11 Bihar clinched the tournament title.
At the closing ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal attended as Chief Guest and honored the winning team with a trophy and ₹51,000, while the runner-up team received ₹41,000. Superintendent of Police Vijay Singh Saklani, who also serves as Chairman of the Minjar Mela Sports Committee, was present as a special guest.
Congratulating the players, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that such sporting events not only help youth showcase their talent but also instill discipline, teamwork, and positive thinking. He highlighted that sports spread the vital message of staying away from drugs, particularly synthetic substances like chitta, and encourage a healthy lifestyle. He urged young people to actively participate in sports and keep away from addiction.
Repswal also praised the organizers, players, and all contributors for the successful conduct of the tournament, noting that such events play a crucial role in guiding youth towards constructive paths.
Representatives of the District Cricket Organization and numerous sports enthusiasts were present at the occasion.
