The Swachhta Pakhwada campaign, aimed at spreading nationwide awareness about cleanliness, concluded at the Kangra Airport’s Aeronautical Meteorological Station with great enthusiasm and commitment. Held from July 1 to July 15, 2026, the fortnight-long drive featured a series of cleanliness and eco-friendly activities.
The initiative began with intensive cleaning of the meteorological observatory premises and staff parking area. A tree plantation drive was also conducted to promote environmental conservation, with Airport Director Amit Saklani, Office In-charge Vipin Sharma, and staff members actively planting saplings.
To reinforce the message of cleanliness, banners were displayed at the ATC building entrance, and all officers and employees took a ‘Swachhta Pledge’. A signature campaign was also organized, engaging staff from various departments to commit to keeping the airport clean and beautiful.
The campaign saw enthusiastic contributions from Meteorological Department staff including Shailja Thakur, Adish Jain, Veer Chand, and Akash, along with officials and employees from other airport departments.
This collective effort highlighted the importance of clean surroundings and environmental responsibility, making the Kangra Airport a model of community-driven cleanliness.
