In a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Chamba Police carried out a five-hour raid in the Balu area following a tip-off. The operation led to the arrest of Manoj Kumar (40), son of Prem Kumar, resident of Balu, Post Office Sultanpur, District Chamba, who was found in possession of 42.37 grams of heroin (chitta).
During the search, police also seized 217 grams of gold, 479 grams of silver, two iPhones, and ₹64,640 in cash from the accused. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at Police Station Sadar, Chamba, and further investigation is underway.
Police officials stated that this successful action has sent shockwaves among drug traffickers in the region, reinforcing the commitment of Chamba Police to curb the menace of narcotics.
