Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania inaugurated the newly constructed Tissa Sub‑Market through virtual mode today. Built at a cost of ₹59 lakh, the facility comprises six shops and a cold storage unit.
Addressing the gathering virtually, the Speaker congratulated farmers and horticulturists of the Tissa region on the launch of the sub‑market. He noted that Tissa is known for its flowers, fruits, and off‑season vegetables, and expressed confidence that the new mandi will save farmers both time and money by eliminating the need to travel outside the area to sell their produce, while ensuring fair prices for their products.
Government’s Commitment to Farmers APMC Chamba Chairman Lalit Thakur highlighted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the state government has taken several farmer‑friendly initiatives. He pointed out that Himachal Pradesh is the first state in the country to provide support prices for natural maize, wheat, barley, and turmeric, urging farmers to adopt natural farming practices to benefit from these schemes.
