Six Tourists lost their life as Vehicle Falls into Gorge in Chamba

A horrific road accident in Chamba district claimed six lives early Monday morning when an Innova car lost control and plunged into a deep gorge near Ghara on the Chamba–Nurpur National Highway.

The accident occurred around 3 AM near Kakira. The vehicle, carrying ten people including the driver, was completely wrecked in the crash. Six tourists – two women, one child, and three men – d*ied on the spot, while four others sustained serious injuries. Local residents and police immediately launched rescue operations, and the injured were referred for advanced treatment after receiving first aid.

Police reached the site soon after being alerted, took possession of the bodies, and sent them for postmortem. Preliminary reports suggest that all occupants were tourists from Gujarat traveling from Manali to Dalhousie. The ill-fated Innova reportedly bore a Mandi registration number.

Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident, which has cast a pall of grief over the region.
