Accident near Jwala Mata Temple under Dhalli police station limits
Shimla: In a tragic road accident in Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla, two persons lost their lives and two others sustained injuries after a JCB machine fell into a deep gorge near the Jwala Mata Temple in the Dhalli area of Sanjauli.
According to initial reports, the driver of the JCB reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and tumble down into the gorge. At the time of the incident, four persons were aboard the JCB along with the operator.
All four injured were rushed to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) and Hospital in Shimla with the help of a 108 ambulance. However, the JCB operator, Sukhdev Rana, alias Bunty, and another occupant, Harinam Negi, succumbed to their injuries.
The other two individuals, Charanjit Singh and Neeraj, are currently undergoing treatment and are reported to be in stable condition.
The exact cause of the accident remains unclear and the police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the mishap.
Eyewitnesses suggest that the JCB may have lost traction on a sharp curve or due to mechanical failure.
