Amid Holi party bill controversy, Himachal Chief Secretary Saxena seeks solace at Shri Naina Devi Temple

Bilaspur: Amid the controversy over a Holi party bill being forwarded to the government, Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena sought spiritual solace at the revered Shri Naina Devi Temple in Bilaspur on Saturday.

Accompanied by his family, Saxena participated in traditional rituals conducted by local priest Pradeep Sharma, seeking blessings from the deity.

The visit comes at a time when Saxena faces scrutiny over reports suggesting the submission of a Rs 1.22 lakh bill for Holi festivities to the government at the state-run Hotel Holiday Home.

The incident sparked discussions in administrative circles, raising questions about the propriety of such expenditures.

During his temple visit, Saxena refrained from addressing the controversy directly. Instead, he highlighted the state government’s initiative to develop a comprehensive master plan aimed at renovating major religious sites to enhance facilities for devotees.

He expressed satisfaction over the ongoing development at Shri Naina Devi Temple, noting his personal connection to the site through past service.

Bilaspur Deputy Commissioner Abid Hussain Sadiq, temple trust chairman Dharampal and temple officer Manish Kumar were also present during the visit.
