Powerful session on youth leadership and social responsibility leaves a lasting impact
MANDI: In an effort to nurture socially responsible and conscientious future citizens, Rotary Club Chhoti Kashi-Mandi organised an inspiring session at Takshila International School on the theme “The Power of Youth in Building a Responsible Society”.
The event was aimed at empowering students to recognise their role not just as learners, but as active contributors to social change.
The keynote speaker, Dr Anupama Singh, president of Rotary Club Chhoti Kashi, delivered a compelling address that left a deep impression on the students.

With passion and clarity, she emphasised that youth are not merely the hope of tomorrow, but the driving force of today. “Real change begins when young individuals choose to be part of the solution,” she said, urging students to take ownership of their surroundings and become proactive agents of transformation.

More than just a speaker, Dr. Singh emerged as a guiding light, urging students to look beyond personal ambition and embrace their responsibilities as citizens.
She stressed that service, empathy, and awareness must be core values in every young person’s life. Her address didn’t just inform but it inspired, igniting a spark that may well shape the leaders of tomorrow.
Adding to the enriching discourse, club secretary Raminder Kaur and member Anuradha Sood engaged the students with their own perspectives and experiences.
Their interactive dialogue helped the students connect abstract ideas of leadership and service with real-world application. They reinforced the message that a meaningful life is built not just on achievements, but on contributions to the greater good.

The session also provided a platform for students to step forward and share their own stories. Several students spoke about their involvement in ongoing school initiatives such as the “Plastic-Free Campus,” “Cleanliness Drives,” and “Educate the Girl Child” campaigns. Their reflections revealed a growing sense of awareness and ownership toward societal issues—an encouraging sign of a generation ready to take charge.
Shailja Kashyap, senior faculty member at the school, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dr Anupama Singh and all members of the Rotary Club present.
“Today has been a day of pride and enlightenment for our students. The words and wisdom they received will resonate far beyond this event, bringing meaningful direction to their lives,” she said.
The school administration echoed similar sentiments, thanking Rotary Club Chhoti Kashi-Mandi for their continued commitment to youth development. They expressed hope that such initiatives would become a regular feature, fostering a culture of awareness, service, and leadership among students.
