In a determined effort to curb illegal mining, Nurpur Police carried out a special drive over the past 24 hours, taking strict legal action against seven vehicles found violating the Mining Act.
Details of Action:
- Indora Police Station: During checking, police teams seized 03 multi‑axle trucks and challaned 01 tractor.
- Damtal Police Station: Action was taken against 01 multi‑axle truck and 01 tractor involved in illegal mining activities.
- Nurpur Police Station: One tractor was challaned on the spot for violating mining norms.
Legal Proceedings: All tractors were challaned immediately at the site, while the multi‑axle trucks involved in illegal mining were seized and sent to the Hon’ble Court for further legal action under the provisions of the Mining Act.
The Nurpur Police reaffirmed their commitment to preventing illegal mining and announced that such drives will continue in the future. Authorities have urged the public to promptly share any information related to illegal mining activities with the police.
