In a major strike against narcotics trafficking, Nurpur Police has dismantled an active interstate drug network with the recovery of 264.6 grams of heroin concealed inside the steering cowl cover of a white Honda Amaze (registration number PB‑06W‑4003). The operation was carried out near Milwan, close to the Himfed Milk Plant, by the CIA Nurpur team.
The seized heroin falls under the commercial quantity category as per the NDPS Act. A notorious supplier from Punjab was arrested on the spot, and the vehicle used in trafficking has been impounded.

Operation Highlights Acting on a tip‑off, police intercepted the suspect’s car near the Ulehrian‑Milwan railway crossing. Independent witnesses were brought along, and a thorough search led to the recovery of the contraband. On‑site testing with a drug detection kit confirmed the substance as heroin.
Interstate Links Preliminary interrogation revealed that the accused is part of a wider network spanning Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. He already faces three NDPS cases registered across these states. This successful strike is expected to significantly weaken the chain of supply in the region.
Next Steps Police have seized both the heroin and the vehicle. Investigations are underway to trace the source of the consignment and identify its intended recipients, with the aim of completely dismantling the network.
