Nagrota Bagwan
Himalyan Public Senior Secondary School, Nagrota Bagwan, celebrated the auspicious festival of Janmashtami with great devotion and enthusiasm. The school premises were beautifully decorated, and students eagerly participated in a variety of cultural programs.
The celebration commenced with Director Anurag Gupta and Principal Sapna Dogra lighting the lamp before Lord Krishna’s idol. Students from classes I to V presented enchanting performances depicting the childhood leelas of Shri Krishna. The event was energetically anchored by Ms. Deepika and Ms. Kusum Lata.
- Class I ‘A’ students charmed the audience with “Mere Kanha Ne Bansi Bajai”, while Class I ‘B’ performed “Krishna Makhan Chor”.
- Class II students presented “Daras Kanhaiya Ke”, followed by Class III ‘A’ with “Natkhat Bansi Wale Gokul Ke Raja” and Class III ‘B’ with “Dhol Nagade Bajya Kare”.
- Class IV ‘A’ showcased “Shyamala Sanware”, and Class IV ‘B’ enthralled with “Radha Gori Gori”.
- Class V ‘A’ performed “Govind Bolo, Hare Gopal Bolo”, while Class V ‘B’ presented “Kanha Re Thoda Pyar De”.
Dressed as little Krishna and Radha, the children captivated everyone with their innocence and charm. A lively Matki Phod competition added to the festive spirit, with students participating enthusiastically. Teachers also shared stories and teachings from Lord Krishna’s life, inspiring students to imbibe values of love, truth, duty, and righteousness.
On this occasion, Director Anurag Gupta and Principal Sapna Dogra extended warm Janmashtami greetings to all, emphasizing the importance of adopting Shri Krishna’s message in daily life. The celebration concluded with the distribution of prasad, as the entire campus echoed with chants of “Jai Shri Krishna”.
