Continuing its crackdown on drug trafficking under the ‘Drug‑Free Himachal’ campaign, Nurpur Police has achieved another success. The Damtal Police team arrested a youth from his house in village Bai Attaria with 151.9 grams of charas/cannabis.
On July 29, 2026, while patrolling near Kandrorhi barrier, the police received a tip‑off that a man named Kaushal was involved in selling charas from his residence. Acting swiftly, the team conducted a raid with independent witnesses and recovered a transparent packet containing a stick‑like substance from a drawer in the bedroom rack. On weighing, it was found to be 151.9 grams of charas/cannabis. The contraband was sealed and taken into police custody on the spot.

An FIR (No. 126/2026) has been registered at Police Station Damtal under Section 20‑61‑85 of the ND&PS Act. Investigations are underway to trace backward and forward linkages of the supply network.
Nurpur Police has appealed to the public to immediately report any information regarding drug trafficking. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
