Deepak Bhardwaj, member of the Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) of Northern Railway, has raised serious concerns over the suspension of the Kangra Valley rail service.

In a video message, Bhardwaj said that despite consistently voicing demands at every level, the service has once again been halted after a brief restart. He pointed out that only two trains had resumed operations, and now even those have been discontinued. He questioned whether the service was revived merely for electoral gains and publicity, asking why an incomplete service was started and then shut down again.

Highlighting the long‑standing demand of the people of Kangra Valley, Bhardwaj stressed that thousands depend on this railway line. “How long will the innocent residents of Himachal have to wait for their rightful demand to be fulfilled?” he asked.

It may be recalled that the Kangra Valley rail service was restarted in June 2026 after nearly four years, but heavy rains and adverse weather in July forced the cancellation of several trains due to safety concerns.

Bhardwaj emphasized that as a ZRUCC member, his responsibility is not only to share the government’s achievements but also to raise questions on issues that remain unresolved. He said the Kangra Valley rail service is one such matter that requires a clear answer and a permanent solution.
