Dharamshala: Congress national secretary and Dharamshala MLA Sudhir Sharma disbursed more than Rs 31 lakhs to 99 beneficiaries under four schemes during a program at the Lions Club in Dharamshala.
Speaking at the event, Sharma emphasized the timely delivery of scheme benefits and highlighted his commitment to opening three MLA offices for public convenience in his constituency.
He distributed cheques and fixed deposits to beneficiaries under schemes like Chief Minister’s Kanyadan Yojana, Chief Minister’s Shagun Yojana, and Beti Hai Anmol Yojana.
Additionally, Sharma launched a mission to provide nutritious chocolate bars daily to around 940 malnourished children in Kangra district.
Addressing the need for better tourism facilities, he expressed his priority for enhancing tourist amenities in Dharamshala, recognizing the town as an education, sports, and event capital. Sharma assured efficient budget management for development, emphasizing the ongoing coordinated efforts between local bodies and panchayats. He also called for departmental coordination to address challenges like uninterrupted electricity and water supply, and drainage issues in Dharamshala.
