The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday staged a massive protest in the Kullu Assembly constituency against the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government, alleging anti-people policies and administrative failures. The demonstration saw a large turnout of party leaders and workers, reflecting a strong show of political strength in the region.
The protest began at the historic Dev Sadan, where party workers gathered in large numbers before marching in a rally towards Dhalpur Chowk. The entire stretch echoed with anti-government slogans as protestors highlighted key issues, including stalled development projects and rising inflation.
Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur was present at the protest and addressed the gathering. He launched a strong attack on the state government, accusing it of failing to deliver on its promises and disappointing the people of Himachal Pradesh. He also called upon party workers to remain united and intensify efforts to hold the government accountable.
The protest was organized under the leadership of Kullu BJP Mandal President Shravan Kumar. During the demonstration, workers raised questions over the functioning of the administration and pointed out several local issues affecting residents.
Narottam Thakur, BJP’s 2022 Assembly candidate from Kullu, also addressed the gathering and spoke about the challenges faced by people at the grassroots level. Several senior leaders, including District BJP President Amit Sood, State BJP Co-Media Incharge Danvendra Singh, and former District President and Mandi Co-Incharge Bhimsen Sharma, were also present along with hundreds of party workers.
Leaders at the protest said the government has failed on multiple fronts and that its promises have remained largely unfulfilled. They warned that if policies are not corrected and development work is not accelerated, the party will intensify its agitation in the coming days.
The protest, which started from Dev Sadan and concluded at Dhalpur Chowk, has intensified the political atmosphere in Kullu, signaling a more aggressive stance by the opposition in the near future.
