Kangra: MCM DAV Public School, Baghan, celebrated the 135th birth anniversary of Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan on December 23, 2024, with great enthusiasm and grandeur. The event was presided over by the school’s chairman and chief guest, Justice C.K. Mahajan, along with retired Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh Sanga.
The ceremony commenced with a sacred havan, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest, guided by Principal Mr. M.R. Rana. The staff and students extended a warm and spirited welcome to the distinguished guests.
A tribute was paid to the statue of Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan, after which a group of students sang a melodious welcome song. The highlight of the celebration was the energetic performances by the young students, showcasing glimpses of Indian culture, including Haryanvi, Kashmiri, and Punjabi folk traditions.
Trisha, a student of Class 10, delivered an inspiring speech on the life and principles of the late Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan, emphasizing his contributions and ideals. This was followed by an address from the honorable chief guest, Justice C.K. Mahajan, who shared anecdotes from Dr. Mahajan’s life, inspiring the audience with his legacy.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Principal Mr. M.R. Rana, expressing gratitude to all participants and guests for making the event a success. A special community lunch (dham) was also organized by the school to mark the occasion, which was enjoyed by all attendees.
