The Hilldaari Project marked a significant milestone by celebrating six successful years of implementation with its concluding event in Dalhousie. The program highlighted the collective efforts of stakeholders who have strengthened the city’s solid waste management system and promoted sustainable practice

The event brought together representatives from various departments, NGOs, citizen groups, Swachhata Committee members, schools, local media, SWM contractors, and Safai Mitras. All were felicitated for their valuable contributions. Adding vibrancy to the celebration, cultural performances included a live singing act by Pratham Ghai and Vishal Hans, and a special cleanliness-themed dance by students of Dalhousie Hilltop School, which beautifully conveyed the message of hygiene and community responsibility.

A key highlight was the support extended to 30 Safai Mitras, who received essential safety and welfare kits comprising uniforms, raincoats, safety shoes, gloves, first aid kits, and ration kits. This initiative aimed to enhance their dignity, safety, and well-being while performing daily responsibilities.

The program was graced by distinguished guests including Sh. Rajneesh Mahajan (DFO, Forest Department), Smt. Seema Attri (SMO, Civil Hospital Dalhousie), Sh. Sudhir Dhawan (Chairman, Hilltop School), Sh. Sanjeev Prakash Sharma (Junior Engineer, Municipal Council Dalhousie), and Smt. Jane Caleb, along with other dignitaries such as Sh. Ajay Nahar and Dr. Devesh from Civil Hospital Dalhousie.

Over the past six years, Hilldaari has focused on behavior change, professionalization of Safai Mitras, and improved waste management practices, particularly segregation at source and community participation. The initiative has played a vital role in making Dalhousie cleaner and more sustainable.

The program concluded with heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders for their continuous support and commitment to building a greener future for Dalhousie.
