A meeting of the Airport Environment Management Committee was convened at Kangra Airport under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Kangra, Shri Vinay Kumar (IAS).
The session was attended by the Airport Director, SDM Kangra, officials from the Health, Animal Husbandry, Forest, and Food Safety departments, representatives of the Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board, Gaggal Police, and heads of nearby gram panchayats.
The primary focus of the meeting was to ensure safe aircraft operations by effectively controlling bird hazards and maintaining a clean, secure environment around the airport. Emphasis was placed on preventing open dumping of waste, adopting scientific disposal of solid waste, and strengthening coordination among all concerned departments and local bodies.
Participants were urged to maintain cleanliness in their respective areas, stop open waste disposal, and actively promote public awareness. Officials highlighted that collective efforts are essential to safeguard aviation safety and create a healthier environment around Kangra Airport.
