The Chaurasi Vyapar Mandal Bharmour, under the leadership of President Mahinder Patyal, submitted a memorandum to Acting Additional District Magistrate Bharmaur Vikas Sharma highlighting several pressing issues of the region.
The traders’ body demanded urgent solutions to problems related to road conditions, parking facilities, sanitation, and other basic amenities. They pointed out that the Chamba–Bharmour National Highway 154-A and other PWD roads have been in a severely deteriorated state for a long time. Potholes and damaged stretches are not only causing inconvenience to local traders, residents, and pilgrims but also posing risks of accidents. Heavy vehicles are unable to reach several destinations due to the poor condition of the roads.
The memorandum emphasized that during the sacred Manimahesh Yatra, thousands of devotees visit Bharmaur, but the dilapidated road network creates major difficulties. The traders urged that repair work on NH-154A and other roads be completed on priority before the pilgrimage begins.
Additionally, the Vyapar Mandal demanded the commencement of a heli-taxi service from June to provide better facilities for pilgrims and tourists. Strengthening parking arrangements and other essential amenities in the area was also sought from the administration.
Senior members of the Bharmour Vyapar Mandal, including Deshraj Sharma, Tek Chand Sharma, Ranjit Sharma, Kalu Sharma, Sanjay Kapoor, Pyar Sharma, Anil Kumar, and Pawan Kumar, were present on the occasion.
