In view of the upcoming Shri Manimahesh Yatra, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal today conducted a field inspection of National Highway‑154A. He visited Dharwala, Batti Ki Hatti, Durgethi, and other sites to review ongoing restoration works on road stretches damaged during last year’s natural disaster.

The DC directed officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to expedite repair works and ensure all essential tasks are completed before the commencement of the Yatra. He instructed that loose rocks and boulders at vulnerable points be removed promptly and adequate safety measures be put in place to guarantee safe and uninterrupted movement of pilgrims and residents.

During the inspection, NHAI Project Director Rahul informed that 60 highly sensitive spots have been identified along the Chamba–Bharmour highway. To maintain smooth traffic flow, 12–13 machines have been deployed, with one machine stationed every five kilometers for immediate clearance in case of blockages. At critical points like Batti Ki Hatti and Chudi, two machines will remain on duty round‑the‑clock, supported by flagmen to alert travelers in case of landslides or falling rocks.

He further stated that barricading is being installed at sensitive locations, while road repairs are being carried out on a war footing to provide safe, convenient, and uninterrupted travel for both locals and pilgrims during the Yatra.

The inspection was attended by NHAI Deputy Manager Yashwant Dhyal, site engineers Sahil and Parikshit, along with other officials.
