Brigadier Harpreet Singh’s Prestigious Visit to NCC 9 HP Battalion, Dalhousie

Emphasis on Military Discipline and Quality Training

The NCC 9 HP Battalion, Dalhousie, witnessed a formal and dignified visit by Group Commander Brigadier Harpreet Singh, who carried out an official inspection of the unit. On his arrival, Senior Division cadets from Arni University presented him with an impressive Guard of Honour, reflecting their discipline, dedication, and high-level training.

The program commenced with a detailed and impactful briefing by Commanding Officer Colonel J.S. Kaushal. He highlighted the role and achievements of NCC while addressing the geographical challenges of Chamba district. He emphasized that through NCC, youth from remote regions such as Bharmour, Tissa, Chamba, Kakira, Indora, and Nurpur are being empowered not only with military training but also with discipline, leadership, and a spirit of national service.

Various ANOs (Associate NCC Officers) also presented reports showcasing school-level activities, achievements, and training programs. Brigadier Harpreet Singh praised the cadets’ outstanding performance, honored them, and conducted a meticulous inspection of the parade line.

In his address, Brigadier Singh stressed the core military values of discipline, dedication, leadership, and patriotism. He described NCC as a powerful medium to shape youth into responsible citizens. He directed the Permanent Instructor staff to prioritize quality, rigor, and practicality in training, ensuring cadets excel in future endeavors. He also underlined the importance of disaster management and life skills training.

On this occasion, three ANOs were promoted to the rank of Second Officer: Sefali (Vijay Memorial School), Sunil Kumar (Govt. Senior Secondary School Dalhousie), and Naresh (Kendriya Vidyalaya Chamera). Arni University’s SD Lieutenant Rohit Kumar was also present.

The event was attended by Colonel J.S. Kaushal, Administrative Colonel B.J.S. Sindhu, Subedar Joginder, Subedar Surinder, Havildar Rajinder Kumar, and the entire PI staff.

Concluding the program, Brigadier Harpreet Singh lauded the unit’s dedication, discipline, and exemplary work, expressing confidence that NCC 9 HP Battalion will continue to set new benchmarks of excellence in the future.
