Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania attended the traditional Chhinj Mela at Khiridhar as the chief guest. Congratulating the organizing committee, he said that fairs and festivals are vital parts of our rich cultural heritage and preserving them is the responsibility of every citizen. Such events strengthen social harmony, goodwill, and brotherhood.
Pathania expressed concern over the growing trend of drug abuse among youth, stressing that sports and physical activities play a crucial role in keeping them away from addiction. He urged intellectuals and all sections of society to come forward to protect young people from this menace.
On the occasion, he announced an additional grant of ₹5 lakh for the construction of the community hall at Khiridhar and ₹51,000 for the organizing committee.
