MLA Neeraj Nayyar today inspected the under-construction multi-storey parking facility at the old bus stand in Chamba. Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal was also present during the visit.
During the inspection, Nayyar reviewed the progress of construction and issued necessary directions to the concerned officials. He clarified that proper and organized space for municipal shops has been planned within the proposed parking complex itself, ensuring that shop arrangements are integrated with the parking facility.
The project, worth approximately ₹7.75 crore, will initially include a four-storey parking structure with capacity for 300–350 vehicles. Plans for future expansion have also been proposed. Nayyar emphasized that the facility will help ease the city’s parking issues, streamline traffic management, and reduce no-parking violations.
He directed officials to maintain strict quality standards and adhere to prescribed norms during construction.
District Council Vice President Liyaqat Ali Khan, HRTC Sub-Divisional Manager Shugal Singh, Municipal Council Executive Officer Rakhi Kaushal, Executive Engineer Jitendra Sharma, Tehsildar Bhupendra Kashyap, Trade Association President Virendra Mahajan, along with several ward councillors, were present on the occasion.
