As part of its statewide student movement, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Nurpur unit today staged a protest at the main gate of Arya Degree College, Nurpur, closing the entrance to press for student-related issues. ABVP asserted that the administration and college management must take serious action on matters concerning students.
During the protest, SDM Nurpur arrived at the spot, leading to detailed discussions between ABVP activists and the administration on various student welfare concerns. The council strongly presented its key demands before the authorities.
Major Demands Raised by ABVP:
- Roll Back Fee Hike – The 25–30% increase in college fees should be withdrawn immediately to avoid burdening economically weaker students.
- Restore Student Union Elections – Democratic rights of students must be ensured by reinstating student union elections.
- Hostel Facility for Students – The college hostel should be reserved for college students instead of being allotted elsewhere.
- Complete New College Building – Construction of the new building should be expedited to provide better academic facilities.
ABVP emphasized that these demands represent the collective interest of the student community, not just individuals. The organization declared that no compromise will be accepted on student rights and facilities.
The Nurpur unit urged the administration to take prompt and positive action on all these issues, reaffirming its commitment to raising a strong voice for student welfare and continuing the struggle for their rights.
