A meeting of the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) Kangra was held at the committee office under the chairmanship of Narendra Kumar (Nishu Mongra). Members of the Arhtiya Association Kangra also attended and presented their concerns to the APMC chairman.
During the session, the committee approved the income earned between December 2025 and June 2026, amounting to ₹5.34 crore. The meeting also reviewed ongoing construction projects under the committee. For the financial year 2026–27, the Himachal Pradesh State Agricultural Marketing Board, Shimla, has sanctioned a budget of ₹8 crore for development works.
Major projects include:
- A modern vegetable market at Tanda Khuli costing ₹6 crore
- Sub-vegetable market at Pasu worth ₹34 lakh
- Vegetable market at Fatehpur costing ₹1.62 crore
- Grain market at Milwan worth ₹2.13 crore
- Construction at Riali costing ₹3.66 crore
The committee also decided to allocate vacant shops in various markets.
For the financial year 2026–27, procurement centers under APMC Kangra purchased 15,156 quintals of wheat, including 2,632 quintals at Milwan, 12,003 quintals at Riali, and 521 quintals at Fatehpur. Under the e-NAM scheme, farmers received payments totaling ₹3.3 crore online by July 2026. The meeting emphasized connecting more farmers to the e-NAM platform.
Licenses issued by APMC Kangra for 2026–27 were also approved.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Rupika Sharma, Dr. Deep Kumar, Dr. Yogesh Sharma, Shagun Sood, Ravindra Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Jaswant Dhadhwal, and representatives of the Arhtiya Association including Rajesh Kathuria, Vishal Soni, Rakesh Soni, Inderjit Singh, Sachin Trehan, Ankush Malhotra, Pankaj, along with farmer members.
