At a press conference held today at the office of Ranjit Bakshi Jan Kalyan Sabha in Jasur, Sabha President Akil Bakshi strongly criticized the deteriorating health services in Nurpur. He presented facts and figures highlighting the shortcomings and accused local representatives of indulging in politics instead of addressing the crisis.
Bakshi alleged that current MLA Ranbir Singh Nikka, who also heads the Rogi Kalyan Samiti, failed to fulfill promises made to the public. He pointed out that essential medical equipment and facilities remain unavailable, leaving Nurpur’s health system struggling with basic deficiencies.
Speaking on the long-pending demand for a Mother & Child Hospital, Bakshi said successive governments have only offered assurances without taking concrete steps. He noted that neither the current administration nor previous leaders ensured the hospital’s full operation, depriving citizens of vital healthcare.
Bakshi also targeted former MLA Ajay Mahajan, accusing him of limiting his role to political rhetoric. Referring to him as “Mr. India”, Bakshi questioned why Mahajan appears before the public only once every four years. He urged citizens to hold leaders accountable for unfulfilled promises.
Declaring a firm stance, Bakshi announced that if the Mother & Child Hospital is not made fully operational within two months, the Sabha will stage a hunger strike outside the hospital on October 2, 2026 (Gandhi Jayanti).
He emphasized that the Sabha’s mission is not to oppose individuals but to secure better healthcare for Nurpur residents. If improvements are not made, the organization will continue its struggle through democratic and peaceful means.
