Dalhousie Tibetan Community Celebrates Dalai Lama’s Birthday with Joy and Devotion

The Tibetan community in Dalhousie celebrated the birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama with great enthusiasm, offering prayers and cutting a ceremonial cake.

A special function was organized to mark the occasion, with former MLA and former Education Minister Mrs. Asha Kumari as the Chief Guest. SDM Dalhousie Anil Bhardwaj attended as Guest of Honour, while Municipal Council President Vandana Chaddha, Vice President Reena Jaryal, Dr. Captain G.S. Dhillon (Chairman, Dalhousie Public School), Sudhir Dhawan (Chairman, Hilltop School), and Tehsildar Ramesh Chauhan joined as Special Guests. Municipal councillors Tilak Raj, Paramjit Singh, and Rajendra Rai were also present.

The Tibetan Assembly Speaker Furbu Damdul and community members warmly welcomed all dignitaries. A vibrant cultural program was presented, with Tibetan girls singing traditional Himachali songs that won the hearts of the audience.

On this occasion, Asha Kumari, SDM Anil Bhardwaj, Vandana Chaddha, and Dr. G.S. Dhillon were honoured with special mementos. In their addresses, the dignitaries highlighted the life and teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, emphasizing his message of peace, compassion, and humanity.

The celebration reflected the deep bond between the Tibetan community and the people of Dalhousie, showcasing cultural harmony and shared respect for His Holiness.
