In a major step towards strengthening basic infrastructure at the popular tourist destination Dalhousie, the Municipal Council has initiated a joint land survey to explore the construction of a new parking facility and modern market along the Jandri Ghat road. The move comes in response to the growing pressure of vehicles in the town and the need to enhance amenities for visitors.
Survey Conducted to Assess Feasibility Under the presence of Municipal Council Executive Officer Rakhi Kaushal, a technical team inspected the proposed site, measuring land and studying key technical aspects. The survey aimed to identify suitable space for a parking facility while also assessing opportunities to create new commercial avenues for local youth and traders.
Joint Inspection by Representatives and Officials Former Municipal Council President Manoj Chaddha, local ward councillor Tilak Raj, and other officials joined the inspection. Discussions focused on traffic management, land availability, and overall development prospects for the area.
Relief from Long-Standing Parking Issues If implemented, the project is expected to ease Dalhousie’s long-pending parking woes, providing safe facilities for tourists and boosting tourism activities in the region.
Local Residents Welcome the Initiative A large number of residents were present during the survey and welcomed the council’s efforts. They expressed optimism that the proposed parking and planned market would energize local trade, generate self-employment opportunities, and ensure holistic development of the area.
Survey Report to be Sent to Government Executive Officer Rakhi Kaushal confirmed that the survey report will soon be submitted to higher authorities and the state government for budgetary approval. She assured that once the necessary clearances are obtained, the project will be implemented at the earliest.
