The Indian Army’s Corps of Signals motorcycle expedition, “Wheels of Valour: Sanchar Shakti,” continues to inspire youth across northern India as it advances towards its final destination. After an engaging and motivational outreach programme at 7 Punjab Battalion NCC, Gurdaspur and 1 Punjab Girls Battalion NCC, Gurdaspur, the expedition has now reached YOL and will continue onwards to Palampur, where the team is scheduled to interact with NCC cadets of 5 Himachal Pradesh NCC Battalion before proceeding towards Manali.
Led by Colonel Sumeet Bhardwaj, the 20-member Corps of Signals riders’ team interacted with hundreds of NCC cadets in Gurdaspur, encouraging them to embrace discipline, leadership, patriotism and selfless service. The officers shared their experiences from military life and highlighted the critical role of the Corps of Signals in providing seamless communications during peace, operations and war.
A major attraction of the event was the spectacular Signals Bike Dare Devils display, where Army riders demonstrated exceptional motorcycle handling skills through precision riding, synchronised formations and challenging manoeuvres. The breathtaking performance captivated the cadets, faculty members and spectators while showcasing the courage, professionalism, teamwork and operational excellence of the Indian Army.
Addressing the gathering, Colonel Sumeet Bhardwaj urged the NCC cadets to strive for excellence, maintain physical fitness and cultivate leadership qualities while serving society with dedication. He emphasised that initiatives such as the Wheels of Valour: Sanchar Shakti expedition strengthen the bond between the Armed Forces and the youth, inspiring many to consider a career in the military.
With its arrival at YOL, the expedition continues its mission of connecting with young Indians and promoting the values of service, discipline and national pride. The next major outreach programme will be held at 5 Himachal Pradesh NCC Battalion, Palampur, before the riders continue their journey through the scenic Himalayan region towards Manali.
The expedition is not only showcasing the rich heritage and technological prowess of the Corps of Signals but also reinforcing the Indian Army’s enduring commitment to nation-building by inspiring the next generation of leaders.
