MANDI: A Class XII student, who was pursuing non-medical, died allegedly by suicide in Jogindernagar sub-division of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh a day before her board exams.
Undergoing treatment for depression, the girl reportedly hung herself from the ceiling in her room at Bhagehad village in Chauntara.
The local authorities have initiated inquest proceedings into the incident. While no suicide note was found, preliminary inquiries by DSP Dinesh Kumar suggested that mental stress may have played a role in the girl taking the step.
