The terror of leopards continues to rise in the tribal region of Bharmaur. In Gram Panchayat Poolan, another major incident has been reported where a leopard attacked a flock of sheep, marking the second such large-scale attack in the area.

On Tuesday morning, when the flock was counted, 16 sheep were found d*ead and 6 were reported missing. The estimated financial loss runs into lakhs of rupees.

Local residents say leopard attacks have been increasing in Poolan Panchayat in recent days, and this marks the second major strike in the area. The repeated incidents have created fear among shepherds, who are deeply worried about the safety of their livestock.

Social worker Deep Thakur, a resident of Dhudenka, has urged the Forest Department to provide immediate compensation to the affected shepherd and to take effective measures to control the rising leopard activity in the region. He warned that if timely action is not taken, shepherds may face even greater losses.

Thakur also appealed to the Bharmaur administration and the state government to ensure proper safety measures for shepherds in the tribal belt.
