Bharmour–Pangi MLA and renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Jankaraj has strongly criticized the Himachal Pradesh government, alleging that the state’s healthcare system is being weakened due to the acute shortage of specialist doctors at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College, Tanda.

Dr. Jankaraj expressed grave concern over the condition of the Cardiology Department, warning that if the only active cardiologist posted there is transferred, thousands of patients will be left without proper treatment. He questioned how critical patients would receive timely care under such circumstances.

He further alleged that several posts of specialist doctors across major health institutions in the state have remained vacant for a long time, yet the government has failed to take effective steps to fill them. As a result, patients are being deprived of timely treatment and expert consultation.

“Instead of strengthening healthcare services, departments already struggling with a shortage of specialists are being further weakened. Is filling vacant posts of doctors not a priority for the government?” Dr. Jankaraj asked.

The MLA demanded that all vacant posts of specialist doctors at Tanda Medical College be filled immediately, with adequate appointments in critical departments including cardiology. He stressed that the people of Himachal Pradesh deserve better healthcare facilities and urged the government to clarify its stance on this pressing issue.
