SDM Kangra Dr. Anjali Garg chaired a review meeting at the Joint Office Building to discuss measures for improving traffic management in Kangra town. The meeting was attended by DSP Kangra Rajesh Kumar, Tehsildar Prakash Chand, Trade Association President Ved Prakash, Municipal Council Vice President Rajkumari, and officials from various departments.

Detailed discussions were held on traffic arrangements in Kangra temple market, Kangra town, and Gaggal market. Dr. Garg directed officials to review the existing yellow line system and extend it where necessary, warning that violations would invite challans. She also instructed removal of illegal encroachments and emphasized that footpaths must remain clear for pedestrians.

The SDM ordered cleaning of drainage lines along main roads and directed installation of signboards at identified locations to improve traffic flow. She also stressed strict action against unauthorized parking and instructed that designated two-wheeler parking areas be marked with yellow lines.

Encroachments along the Gaggal National Highway were discussed, with Dr. Garg appealing to shopkeepers not to place goods beyond permitted limits. She warned that violators would face legal action.

The meeting also reviewed heavy vehicle movement on Matour bridge, with officials asked to take necessary steps to ease congestion.

Dr. Garg noted that with the festive season and Navratri approaching, traffic pressure around Kangra temple would increase. She appealed to officials, traders, and citizens to cooperate in maintaining smooth traffic arrangements, adding that collective efforts could make Kangra cleaner, more organized, and pedestrian-friendly.
