Nurpur Police Launches Awareness Campaign Across Schools: Over 1,000 Students Benefited

Police District Nurpur today organized a wide-reaching awareness campaign across various schools under its jurisdiction, engaging more than 1,000 students and teachers. The initiative, conducted through local police stations and outposts, aimed to guide youth towards becoming responsible, law-abiding citizens.

Schools Covered

Awareness programmes were held in schools at Khatiyar, Jawali, Makdahan, Kotla, Trilokpur, Charudi, Sukkad, Majra, Gangwal, Sadwan, Barot, Indora, Basantpur, Baranda, Rehan, and Dehri.

Key Awareness Topics

Police officers sensitized students on several important issues, including:

  • ERSS (112): Emergency Response Support System and how to seek police help during crises.
  • Drug Abuse (NDPS): Dangers of narcotics, especially synthetic drugs like chitta, and the importance of a drug-free life.
  • Cybercrime: Precautions against online fraud, data security, and safe internet banking.
  • POCSO Act: Legal provisions for protecting children against sexual offences.
  • Good Touch & Bad Touch: Educating children about physical safety and recognizing inappropriate behavior.
  • Traffic Rules (Motor Vehicle Act): Road safety and adherence to traffic regulations.
  • Know Your Rights: Awareness of fundamental legal and constitutional rights.
  • Women’s Safety: Legal rights of women and awareness about workplace harassment.

Participation & Impact

The interactive sessions saw enthusiastic participation, with students engaging directly with police officers to clarify doubts and share concerns.

Police District Nurpur emphasized that such awareness campaigns will continue in the future, ensuring that young citizens are guided towards safety, responsibility, and empowerment.
