Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut, who is also celebrating her birthday today, has strongly praised filmmaker Aditya Dhar, calling him the “best thing” about the success of Dhurandhar 2 and underlining the need to recognise directors as the true driving force of cinema.

In a detailed message shared on Instagram Stories, Kangana described Dhar as a “superstar filmmaker” and said his rise marks a significant moment for the industry. Drawing comparisons with global cinema, she pointed out that filmmakers in Hollywood often enjoy greater stature than actors, citing icons like Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino and Christopher Nolan.

Taking a sharp swipe at the Indian film ecosystem, Kangana said filmmakers and technicians are frequently neglected despite their crucial role.

“They are overworked, underpaid and bullied by superstars,” she wrote, adding that very few young people aspire to become directors, cinematographers or technicians, as the industry remains heavily actor-centric.

She emphasised that Aditya Dhar’s journey could inspire a new generation of creators.

“Here is a superstar filmmaker shining brighter than any hero… today, so many youngsters are watching his story who will aspire to be like him and take the film industry to greater heights,” she added, saluting the director.

Film Garners Industry Praise, Breaks Records

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, has emerged as a major box office success since its release on March 19. The film has received appreciation not only from audiences but also from noted filmmakers like S. S. Rajamouli and Rakesh Roshan.

The spy action thriller stars Ranveer Singh along with Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt and Sara Arjun.

A sequel to the 2025 blockbuster Dhurandhar, the film delves into the backstory of its lead character and his rise while pursuing a high-stakes mission against a terror network.

Opening to strong reviews, the film has broken multiple box office records, collecting around ₹146 crore in India and ₹240 crore worldwide on its opening day, and has since crossed ₹370 crore globally, continuing its impressive run in theatres.
