The indefinite hunger strike launched by Akhil Bakshi demanding the immediate inauguration of the Mother & Child Hospital in Nurpur has entered its fourth day.

Despite the gravity of the issue, neither the administration nor the government, nor even the leaders who once made tall promises about the hospital, have taken any serious initiative to address Bakshi’s protest. This silence has sparked outrage, with many questioning whether humanity still exists within those in power.

Bakshi’s demands are not personal but rooted in public welfare:

  1. The Mother & Child Hospital in Nurpur must be dedicated to the public without further delay.
  2. The Ranjit Bakshi Jan Kalyan Sabha, which plays a vital role in social service, should be included in the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS).

Supporters emphasize that these demands are neither impossible nor self-serving, but directly tied to the health and rights of Nurpur’s residents.

The ongoing protest has drawn widespread solidarity from the public, who continue to rally behind Bakshi. Observers say the issue now transcends one individual — it represents the dignity and rights of the entire Nurpur community.
