Abhilashi University organised a comprehensive academic and cultural programme centred on the life, philosophy and contemporary relevance of Swami Vivekananda, underscoring the pivotal role of youth in nation building and the vision of a developed India.
The programme was aimed at sensitising students to the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and encouraging them to translate his teachings into action in their academic pursuits and social responsibilities.
Former Vice-Chancellor and Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Anupama Singh attended the event as the Chief Guest. Welcoming her, Vice-Chancellor Prof. H. K. Chaudhary acknowledged her contributions to higher education and social development.
In her keynote address, Prof. Singh described Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy as a foundational pillar for building a progressive and self-reliant nation. Elaborating on the vision of a developed India, she emphasised the responsibility of youth as catalysts of change and drivers of inclusive growth.
She also referred to several flagship initiatives of the Government of India, including drone technology-based programmes, national skill development initiatives, Skill India and the Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign. She noted that these initiatives are equipping young people with industry-relevant skills and entrepreneurial capabilities, thereby strengthening the country’s growth trajectory.
To mark the occasion, the university organised a series of competitions, including poster making, rangoli and declamation contests, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across disciplines.
In the poster making competition, Mehak (BAMS) secured first position, followed by Tanya (BAMS) in second place and Monica Thakur (BPT Physiotherapy) in third. In the rangoli competition, Group 4 — Shruti, Rakshit, Quincy, Ayesha and Muskan (BAMS) — clinched first position, while Group 2 — Prerna, Tarun, Sanjana and Sakshi (B.Pharmacy) — secured second place and Group 7 — Divya, Saksha and Nikita (BAMS) — finished third. In the declamation competition, Nikita Thakur (B.Sc Agriculture) stood first, Ankita Dangi (BAMS) second and Shivam (BVSc) third.
The programme also featured cultural performances by students, with a patriotic presentation emerging as a highlight and adding a strong sense of national spirit to the event.
The event concluded successfully with active participation from students under the guidance of faculty members and the university administration.
Among those present were Chancellor and Chairman Dr. R. K. Abhilashi, Vice Chairperson of Abhilashi Education Society Dr. Pamela Abhilashi, Registrar Dr. Kapil Kapoor, Dean Academics Dr. K. S. Sharma, Dean Student Welfare Prof. Devendra Sharma, along with the Deans of Agriculture, Veterinary and Pharmacy, coordinators and heads of various departments.
