Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur on Friday participated in a grand Tiranga Yatra at Gandhi Chowk in Hamirpur, joined by thousands of local residents and Gen-Z youth.
Thakur said the national flag was not merely a symbol of India’s identity but also carried within it the story of the country’s freedom struggle, sacrifices and journey as a nation.
Describing the Tricolour as a symbol of India’s unity, pride and national honour, Thakur said countless brave soldiers from Himachal Pradesh had made the supreme sacrifice to uphold the honour of the national flag.
He called upon people to collectively work towards preserving the dignity and honour of the Tricolour, saying that respecting the national flag was a shared responsibility of every citizen.
A major highlight of the Tiranga Yatra was the participation of a large number of children and young people. Thakur said the enthusiastic presence of Gen-Z youth and children reflected their strong connect with the national flag and their sense of patriotism.
The Tiranga Yatra passed through the heart of Hamirpur, with the Tricolour being carried by participants as the town witnessed a strong display of national pride and enthusiasm.
Thakur, who represents Hamirpur in the Lok Sabha, shared photographs and details of the event on social media, describing his participation in the Yatra as an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of the national flag with the people of his parliamentary constituency.
