Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament Vishnu Dutt Sharma on Tuesday said that corruption-free governance, poor welfare and national integration remain the defining identity of the Bharatiya Janata Party, as he addressed a state-level organisational meeting in Himachal Pradesh.
Speaking at the BJP’s provincial meeting in Sundernagar, Sharma said the Modi government has brought systemic reforms to ensure transparency, ending the era of leakages and middlemen in welfare delivery.
“Today, government assistance reaches beneficiaries directly. Even one rupee of welfare support is transferred to the rightful person, reflecting a historic change in governance,” he said, referring to the Direct Benefit Transfer mechanism.
Article 370 Removal Strengthened India’s Unity
Highlighting national unity as a key BJP commitment, Sharma called the abrogation of Article 370 a landmark decision that fulfilled a decades-old national resolve.
“It was not merely a political step but a historic move that strengthened India’s integrity and reinforced the spirit of one nation,” he said.
He also alleged that the Congress was attempting to build a false narrative to discredit BJP leadership, while the outcomes of development and governance reforms were visible across the country.
Infrastructure Push in Hill States a Development Milestone
Sharma pointed to major infrastructure expansion under the Centre, stating that between 2014 and 2025, nearly 1,364 kilometres of national highways were constructed and upgraded in Himachal Pradesh, boosting tourism, connectivity and economic activity.
He also described the 9.02-km Atal Tunnel (Rohtang) as a symbol of India’s world-class infrastructure capability, providing year-round connectivity to Lahaul-Spiti and ending winter isolation.
BJP a Cadre-Based Party Rooted in Ideology: Bindal
BJP state president Dr. Rajeev Bindal, who presided over the meeting, said the party remains a worker-driven organisation inspired by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s philosophy of Integral Humanism.
He said BJP’s governance and organisational strength rests on its Panch Nishthas — nationalism, democracy, cultural values, Antyodaya and clean public life.
Senior leaders including Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur and key office-bearers were present at the meeting.
