Kangra/Chamba: During a recent visit to his home state, BJP National President JP Nadda criticized the Congress party for its alleged failure to initiate significant development projects in Himachal Pradesh during its tenure. He emphasized that it was under former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s leadership that the state received a special industrial package, which was later discontinued by the UPA government.
Addressing a a press conference at near Kangra airport at a private hotel, Nadda stated that Congress prime ministers treated Himachal Pradesh as mere “political tourists,” lacking genuine commitment to the state’s progress. He highlighted that the special industrial package granted by Vajpayee’s government was prematurely terminated by the UPA, citing concerns over similar demands from neighboring states.
Nadda further pointed out that the Modi government reinstated the special status and introduced several major projects in the state, including the AIIMS in Bilaspur, a bulk drug park in Una, and a medical devices park in Nalagarh. He also mentioned the strategic Manali-Leh rail line project, aimed at boosting industrial growth and tourism in the region.
Criticizing the Congress for allegedly hindering Himachal Pradesh’s development, Nadda urged voters to support the BJP for continued progress. He stressed that the BJP’s focus on infrastructure and healthcare projects demonstrates its commitment to the state’s welfare.
