Background of the Sukhu vs. Sudhir Sharma Feud
The dispute stems from an ongoing political conflict between Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Sudhir Sharma. Once a prominent minister within the Congress administration, Sudhir Sharma emerged as a key figure during the state’s assembly turmoil when he and five other Congress legislators cross-voted in favor of the BJP during the Rajya Sabha elections. Following his disqualification from the assembly, Sharma officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and successfully re-contested his Dharamshala seat in the subsequent by-election.

In response to the recent legal developments, Sudhir Sharma and the state BJP leadership have rejected the vigilance probe, labeling the investigation as a politically motivated move and an act of vendetta orchestrated by the Sukhu-led government.
