Five houses were reduced to ashes in Kullu district’s remote Tyun village in Lag valley of Himachal Pradesh in a massive fire incident.
Due to lack of a road to the village, the fire brigade was unable to reach the spot, leaving villagers to tackle the fire on their own. The local administration has now arrived at the scene to assist the affected families.
According to local residents, the fire started suddenly in one house during the evening and quickly spread to neighbouring houses. Despite efforts by villagers to contain the fire, it spread rapidly, engulfing five homes within moments. Upon receiving the information, teams from the district administration arrived and are currently preparing a report on the damage caused by the fire.
Reena Devi, pradhan of Mangarh panchayat, stated, “Five houses were burned to ashes in the fire, causing losses amounting to several lakhs of rupees.”
Tyin village in Kullu’s Lag valley is highly remote and lacks road access, making it impossible for fire tenders to reach the area. As a result, the villagers received no assistance from the fire brigade, and within minutes, the homes of five families were left in ruins. In response to the fire, the administration dispatched the local patwari to the scene for assessment.
Kullu SDM (Sadar) Vikas Shukla said, “Five houses have been burned in the fire at Tyun village. The affected families will be provided with immediate relief as per the norms.”
