BILASPUR: Himachal Pradesh Minister Rajesh Dharmani delivered an inspiring speech at the ‘Shining Star Awards’ ceremony in Bilaspur on Sunday (June 23, 2024) as he asked students to work towards holistic development instead of focusing merely on studies.
Addressing the audience comprising meritorious students, their parents and teachers, Dharmani, the Minister for Technical Education, Vocational and Industrial Training, emphasised the importance of all-round development. He said students should excel not only academically but also take care of their overall health and stay abreast of advancements in technology.
Dharmani encouraged students to strive for excellence in all aspects of life. “It’s essential to be all-rounders, to take care of your physical and mental health and to stay updated with the latest in artificial technology,” he advised. He shared his own journey, revealing that he had once aspired to be a doctor but eventually found his calling in politics. Dharmani is an MLA from neighbouring Ghumarwin, a constituency that is part of Bilaspur district.
He highlighted the importance of versatility and adaptability in today’s fast-paced world. “The ability to adapt and grow in various fields is what makes a person truly successful,” Dharmani remarked. He urged students to pursue their passions while remaining open to new opportunities and challenges.
After Dharamshala, Chamba, Kullu and Mandi, Bilaspur was chosen for the event by The Newz Radar, the only and trusted English digital news network based out of Himachal Pradesh.
The Shining Star Awards function celebrated the achievements of meritorious Class 10 and Class 12 students, both of private and government schools, who have scored 85 per cent and above marks in their board examination.
The prestigious ‘Shining Star Awards-2024’ was off to a glittering start with nearly 300 students turning up at the venue for registration since early morning. The total gathering was of over 600, which comprised the parents and teachers of the award-winning students as well.
The June 23 event in Bilaspur is the fifth episode of the second edition of the prestigious ‘Shining Star Awards’, which were instituted in 2023 to celebrate the extraordinary academic achievements of the super brains, among them several from ordinary backgrounds.
After Bilaspur, Team Newz Radar will be shifting focus to Una to organise the ‘Shining Star Awards’ at the Haroli Auditorium on June 26 where Deputy Chief Minister and local MLA Mukesh Agnihotri is expected to be the chief guest.
