The two-day block-level sports competition organised at Sanchui under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, concluded on Monday with great enthusiasm.
The closing ceremony was graced by Bharmour Tehsil Welfare Officer Vikas Pakhretia as the chief guest. He was felicitated with a badge and memento by National Volunteer Manish Thakur.
Highlights of the Competition
- Teams from several villages of Bharmour participated in events including volleyball, high jump, long jump, 800-meter race, and shot put.
- On the final day, the volleyball semifinals and finals were held. In the thrilling final, Khani defeated Sanchui to claim the championship.
- In the 800-meter race, Varun Sharma secured first place, followed by Rishiv (second) and Praveen Thakur (third).
- In the high jump, Tarun took first place, Nikhil second, and Shubham third.
- In the long jump, Varun Sharma again emerged victorious, with Kartik in second place and Aryan in third.
The chief guest honored the winning athletes and teams with prizes and encouraged all participants to embrace sports with true sporting spirit. He urged the youth to stay away from substance abuse and emphasized that engaging in sports not only ensures a bright future but also safeguards health.
