A powerful awareness program under the Anti-Chitta Campaign (Phase-2) was organized today at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government College, Takipur, aimed at sensitizing students and youth about the harmful effects of drug abuse and inspiring them to contribute to building a drug-free society.
The event was jointly hosted by the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Red Ribbon Club. Chief Guest Narendra Nishu Mongra, Chairman of the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee, Kangra, and Guest of Honour Dr. R.S. Gill, Principal of the college, were warmly welcomed by the institution.
In his address, Mongra urged students to stay away from social evils like drugs, emphasizing that “youth power is the nation’s greatest asset, and if guided in the right direction, the future of society will be bright.” He encouraged students to embrace education, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle, while calling upon all sections of society to actively support the campaign.
Guest of Honour Dr. Gill highlighted the importance of moral values, self-control, and positive thinking in shaping a meaningful life.
During the program, NSS volunteers, Red Ribbon Club members, and students took a pledge for a drug-free life, vowing to remain away from substance abuse, spread awareness among families and communities, and contribute to the vision of a Nasha-Mukt Bharat.
The event, held in the college premises, proved to be highly successful, inspiring, and impactful, strengthening the sense of social responsibility among students.
