Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania today attended the International Minjar Fair–2026 as the chief guest at the traditional wrestling competition. Local MLA Neeraj Nayyir was also present on the occasion.
The Speaker inaugurated various bouts of the competition, met the young wrestlers entering the arena, and motivated them with words of encouragement.
For the first time, a Kodi competition was organized during the Minjar Fair. The winning team, Chamunda Mata Club Samra, was awarded ₹31,000 along with trophies, while runner-up Suraj Kumar and team received ₹21,000. Semi-final and quarter-final teams were also honored with prizes.
On this occasion, the Speaker was felicitated by representatives of the District Wrestling Association.
The event was attended by former MLA Surender Bhardwaj, APMC Chairman Lalit Thakur, State Road Transport Corporation Board Member and District Congress President Surjeet Bharmauri, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal, Superintendent of Police Vijay Saklani, Chamba Congress Committee President Om Prakash, senior vice-president Kartar Singh Thakur, Bhalei Mata Committee President Kamal Thakur, Wrestling Association President Virender Thakur, General Secretary Rajeshwar Thakur, Kodi Association President Dr. Sanjeev Suri, Secretary Mahender Singh, and representatives including Ravikant Chaudhary and Ishwar Kumar. A large number of officials, dignitaries, and sports enthusiasts were also present.
