Two Arrested with 2.3 Grams Heroin in Nurpur Police Action

Continuing its ongoing campaign against drug trafficking, Nurpur Police District has arrested two individuals and recovered 2.3 grams of heroin (chitta).

Case Details: During patrolling and checking near Pakka Tiala in Nagawari area, a team from Kandwal Police Post noticed two suspicious persons walking. On seeing the police, one of them threw a packet from his pocket by the roadside and both tried to walk away. Acting on suspicion, the police stopped them and, in the presence of independent witnesses, searched the packet.

The search led to the recovery of 2.3 grams of heroin/chitta. The accused were identified as Sunil Singh (28), son of Amrik Singh, and Arvind Singh (38), son of Madan Singh, both residents of Bari village, Fatehpur Tehsil, Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh. They were arrested and later released on bail as per legal procedure.

Legal Action: An FIR (No. 198/2026) has been registered at Nurpur Police Station under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act. Investigation is underway.
